Amanda Turner Durham
Amanda Turner Durham began her love for dance at age two and turned her passion into work. Studying under the direction of Terri Teele Oliver and other great teachers at The Teele School of Dance, she was a competitive dancer and finished high school with fifteen years experience. Along with dance, Amanda was a competitive and sport cheerleader at Blue Ridge High School where she was captain for two years. Upon graduation, she attended Lander University and became a competitive cheerleader and continued to dance on a competitive level. Amanda majored in Exercise Science and minored in Dance at Lander and was a member of the Lander Dance Company. She was LDC president for 3 years and the Carol Nuebner scholarship recipient. She also was an original member of the Lander Dance Team. Amanda was Miss Lander University 2005 and talent winner. In 2007 she was chosen as Miss Greenville, talent winner, and Miss Congeniality. She was also voted Miss Congeniality at Miss South Carolina 2007. After college Amanda continued to dance competitively for Greenville Ballet’s competition team and was a professional dancer for two years on Greenville’s Danzeforce for an indoor football team. Amanda has taught techniques classes and exercise classes for the past six years and continues to have a passion to teach and learn dance.
